Our Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) program touches every member of team UAMS as we strive to provide a
safe and secure environment for patient care. Our goal is a violence-free workplace where patients, families,
visitors and healthcare professionals all respect one another.
UAMS does not tolerate any type of violent or threatening behavior, by anyone, on our properties.
We provide annual workplace violence prevention training for healthcare team members and train all new UAMS
employees in conflict management. That training enables our team to handle many disruptive, threatening,
harassing or physically violent behaviors toward our team by patients, families or visitors.
The WVP program investigates all reports of workplace violence that involve patients or visitors. They
must be reported in RLDatix, our system for reporting such safety events. For more information, see the
Reporting Incidents page.
