About Us

The UAMS Police Department provides all services expected of a certified law enforcement agency. Our certified law enforcement officers have full police powers while on property that UAMS owns or leases. For example, we:

• Respond to complaints and alarms
• Patrol around the clock, every day of the year
• Monitor the closed circuit television system around the campus to record and investigate suspicious activity
• Unlock and secure buildings and other areas
• Support the UAMS Emergency Management program

Our officers also offer hands-on services to help patients visitors, and employees feel more secure. For example, we:

• Escort people to and from parking areas at any time of day or night
• Help motorists with problems such as drained batteries or being locked out of their vehicles
