(Medical Application of Science for Health)
Summer Enrichment Program
June 7-18, 2010
8:30am-3:30pm, daily
UAMS Medical Center, Little Rock
M*A*S*H is a program open to high school students attending school in Pulaski County who will be entering their junior or senior year in the fall of 2010. This program allows students to:
- Appreciate the importance of basic science theories in relation to medical diagnosis and treatment.
- Describe the role of each participating healthcare team member to the care of an individual patient.
- Perform simple diagnostic procedures that demonstrate their understanding of basic science theories.
- Learn how to administer first aid to accident victims to include bandaging, control of bleeding, splinting, and spinal immobilization.
- Learn how to administer Basic Life Support (CPR).
- Demonstrate a better understanding of medical terminology.
- Demonstrate an increased awareness of teenage health related issues, enabling each individual to make better informed decisions based on scientific data.
