New Faculty Information
Welcome to our New Faculty
All new faculty are
invited to a one hour meeting in the Office of
Faculty Affairs. The purpose is to get you started
well on your academic career. Specific
discussion topics include planning your academic
career, networking, useful resources, and question
time.
New Faculty Welcome

dates, times and place. Welcome meetings are
conducted by Dr. Jeannette Shorey and Glenda Cooper.
The
2009 Orientation will be September 9 from 1 -
4 pm
in the College of Public Health 8th floor
Auditorium. This is for all faculty appointed since
last September.
The College of Medicine
Professionalism Guideline
for faculty was approved December 8, 2008.
This
Professionalism Guideline serves to document the
expectations we collectively hold for ourselves in
our interactions with patients, colleagues, health
professionals, students, trainees, staff and the
public.
The 2009
Absolutely Unofficial Faculty Handbook or FIGS (Fill
in the Gaps) 14th edition
is now available.
This handbook is a practical, fun referential guide
to UAMS, Little Rock and Central Arkansas for all
new faculty, recruits and housestaff. Dr. Page
Moore, chair of the WFDC Publications committee has
written a forward and the list of FIGS Sponsors can
be found on the back page.
