The Pre-Op Evaluation Center is a joint effort of the Department of
Anesthesiology and the Department of Surgical Services to ensure patients
are medically optimized and well informed prior to any medical procedures
that require anesthesia. The Pre-Op Evaluation Center performs
pre-anesthetic evaluations, indicated diagnostic testing and reviews all
results in advance of the scheduled procedure date. This is done in an
effort to avoid day of procedure cancellations and/or unnecessary delays. If
any additional medical consultations are needed, the Pre-Op Evaluation
Center staff will coordinate appointments for the patient in an effort to
avoid a delay in the planned procedure date. Our clinical team includes
Resident Physicians, Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, Patient
Educators and Hospital Admissions Representatives who all play integral
roles in preparing the patient for their planned procedure.
