The Mission of the UAMS College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Practice is to be a center of excellence for pharmacy education, practice, research and service to the profession and society.
In order to achieve this mission, the department will:
Utilize innovative methods and technologies to educate and promote life long learning among pharmacy students, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals in the principles of pharmacotherapy, medication therapy management, pharmaceutical policy and health care administration.
Advance pharmacy through excellent post-graduate education and training programs that prepare graduate pharmacy students to contribute to the improvement of health and wellness.
Promote and model evidence-based, innovative interdisciplinary clinical practice to optimize patient therapy in a variety of patient care settings.
Conduct nationally and internationally recognized research in clinical pharmacy practice, social and behavioral sciences, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical policy and outcomes that promotes wellness and improves healthcare.
Provide leadership in the advancement of the pharmacy profession through public service.
Promote and nurture diversity, cultural competence, ethical and professional conduct among our students and colleagues.
