John C. Marecki, Ph.D. Phone: 501.364.2706 |
Education:
Ph.D. University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Biochemistry, 2002
B.S. University of Denver, Biochemistry, 1995
Research Interests:
Dr. Marecki has an interest in exploring the contribution of dietary factors as well as excessive energy intake to the development of childhood obesity, and determining the underlying molecular mechanisms of associated complications including fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, inflammation and steatohepatitis. Through the use of carefully developed animal models, Dr. Marecki aims to obtain a better understanding of the metabolic basis for the development and progression of childhood obesity and produce innovative tools for prevention and treatment.
